Labour’s Winter Fuel Allowance chaos

At the Labour conference unions and some members voted asking the government to reverse their decision to scrap the winter fuel allowance for thousands of pensioners.

Even though the vote was carried it was non binding and the Labour government has already stated it intends to ignore the vote.

Cllr Lee Windram said, “Labour have again showed they are the true nasty party. They don’t have to target the elderly but they choose to because they no longer care.

Locally when we put a motion forward every Labour Councillor including the ex Labour Councillor now so called independent voted to abstain against this cruel Labour governments attack on our most vulnerable. We will make sure the people know who’s on their side which is clearly not Labour.”
