A message from Cllr Michael Wyatt deputy Leader of North West Leicestershire District Council.
2023 was the year you saw a real change to the political scene in North West Leicestershire with more Liberal Democrats being elected.
For decades both of the mainstream parties have failed to deliver what the people want. Now I’m within the administration I am pushing hard to get back to common sense policies which deliver value for money and quality services.
In 2024 you will start to see a different council. One which cares about communities, works to improve our environment and hopefully starts to deliver what people want, a cleaner, greener and safer place to live.
I’ve lived in Coalville all of my life. I’ve spent most of my life being a public servant, representing the people and fighting for my area which I am passionate about. Hopefully, with your continued support, we will make a real difference. I have many projects I want to implement but like everything it takes time one thing I have which many do not have is determination.
The council does have problems and issues which are being addressed but again it will take time to improve these areas like housing which has failed tenants time and time again due to poor communication. Please be assured this issue is one of our priorities to get sorted.
My involvement in the administration will be a positive one which will see real change that benefits the whole area and not just Coalville. In 2024 you will start to hear about projects that I’m hoping you will support and see the benefits to our area.
Finally please stay safe and remember we are always here to help
Michael Wyatt
